Who I Serve

My strengths as a counselor are with adults, adolescents and families.

Specialties

Some of my specialties include helping individuals recover from eating disorders and improve their relationship with food and body.  If you are sick of obsessing about your weight or your body or exhausted from overexercise, I want to help you make peace with yourself, your body and with food.  Some of the disorders and challenges I treat are:

  • Anorexia Nervosa
  • Bulimia Nervosa
  • Binge Eating Disorder
  • Body Dysmorphic Disorder
  • compulsive overeating and emotional eating
  • frequent weight fluctuations
  • obsessive thoughts about weight, body and food
  • athletes with eating disorders or disordered eating
  • help for family members when a child or loved one has an eating disorder

Eating disorders can take a devastating toll on the mind and body, and worst case scenario can lead to serious medical complications.  It may therefore be necessary for you or your loved one work with other professionals in addition to myself, including a medical doctor and/or a dietitian.  If this is something that is needed I will walk you through the process of setting up a “treatment team” that will best meet you or your loved one’s needs.
